Canopy A&D Expands Soft Goods Division to Meet Capacity Demands of Surging Space Launch Activity

Ontario, CA & Cape Canaveral, FL – Canopy A&D (“Canopy”) has announced a significant expansion of soft goods and insulation capabilities for Thermal Protection Systems (TPS) across its West and East Coast Hera Technologies locations to support accelerating demand from the growing space and defense launch economy.

The expansion strengthens Canopy’s capabilities for precision-engineered thermal protection solutions that manage extreme hot and cold environments across launch vehicles, spacecraft, avionics, propulsion systems, re-entry, and defense platforms. These investments expand capacity for a wide range of TPS applications, including:

• Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blankets for cryogenic and high-temperature environments

• Fabricated thermal covers and insulation jackets for propulsion and fluid systems

• Flexible TPS solutions for fairings, payload adapters, and vehicle structures

• Precision-machined and painted insulation components

• Refurbishment and re-qualification of previously flown TPS assemblies

Canopy has heard the clear signal from its customers and is rapidly accelerating growth and infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of the launch market. As launch frequencies increase and programs move faster than ever, Canopy is pairing the quality customers have come to expect with the capacity and speed now required to support sustained launch operations. By expanding its footprint and operating closer to customers, Canopy is deepening proactive engagement to ensure thermal protection solutions are ready for any launch, anywhere, and at any time the mission demands.

Supporting the Next Generation of Spaceflight

Canopy’s built-in engineering and vertically integrated manufacturing model delivers full-lifecycle TPS support at production scale. Integrated capabilities across CNC cutting, soft-goods fabrication, bonding, coating, inspection, certification support, and refurbishment allow Canopy to reduce execution risk, control cost, and accelerate lead times and launch cadence for the entire space industry.
